Day Tour – San Ramón Coffee Plantation and Sarchí
Travel along a scenic route with your Greentique Certified Guide through San Ramón, the “City of Poets” and birthplace of three Costa Rican presidents, and the Canton of Alajuela. Then, traveling south on the Pan-American Highway to the Canton of Naranjo, you’ll get an overview of local agriculture and visit the Espíritu Santo Coffee Plantation. You’ll be walked through a step-by-step explanation of the full coffee production process, from harvest to the roasting of a cup of Costa Rica’s finest blend of plantation coffee. Then it’s on to Sarchí, Costa Rica’s must-see destination for crafts by traditional artisans, where you’ll shop an extensive selection Costa Rican crafts, including the world famous hand-painted oxcarts.
You will travel in comfort along a scenic route through the Canton of San Ramón. It is the “city of poets” and birthplace of three previous presidents. Most famous was Don Pepe Figueres, the president who abolished Costa Rica’s military and established its current democracy. A photo gallery in his honor, plus the nearby Church and Central Park, are part of this popular tour.
Then, you will travel south on the Pan-American Highway to the Canton of Naranjo. It includes an overview of local agriculture that features the Espíritu Santo Coffee Plantation, where a step-by-step explanation of the entire process from harvesting to roasting a cup of Costa Rica’s finest blend of plantation coffee will be presented.
From there, you will continue on to Sarchí. The town of Sarchí is home to the typical artisans of Costa Rica. Sarchí offers from the hands of laborious artisans the most beautiful oxcarts, very representative of our culture and idiosyncrasy, a variety of handicrafts.
